In today’s episode of Mangal Lakshmi, aired on 10th September 2024, the tension in the household rises as Lakshmi reveals the shocking truth about Soumya’s boyfriend to Kusum. Lakshmi tells Kusum that Soumya’s boyfriend is a fraud. He was pretending to be a policeman earlier and tried to steal their jewelry.
Lakshmi explains that the man changes his appearance frequently to commit crimes. Kusum is left stunned and starts questioning whether the man she allowed into their lives is actually a fake actor. Despite her surprise, Kusum requests Lakshmi to stay quiet about the matter, especially to Mangal.
She knows Mangal would get overly stressed if she found out about Soumya’s involvement with a man like him. However, Lakshmi is hesitant, feeling that the truth should be revealed. Kusum firmly insists they should not meddle in Soumya’s personal life and that her main concern was getting Soumya married.
As Lakshmi and Kusum discuss Soumya’s boyfriend, Mangal enters the room. Sensing something is off, she directly asks Lakshmi what she was talking about concerning Soumya’s boyfriend. Before Lakshmi can answer, Karthik intervenes and says the man had already left.
Mangal, suspicious, asks where he went. Soumya quickly covers up, saying he had some urgent work. Karthik follows up with another question, asking what kind of work he does. Adit steps in, telling them that Soumya’s boyfriend works in the stock market. Not feeling well, Soumya decides to leave the room, which only adds to the tense atmosphere.
Kusum notices this and comments that both Soumya and her boyfriend have left, but Mangal brushes it off, saying they shouldn’t concern themselves with Soumya’s personal matters. Instead, she shifts focus to their family and suggests they all have dinner together. Adit agrees, trying to ease the mood, but Kusum remains troubled, still wondering if Shanti’s earlier warnings about the boyfriend were true.
Later, Adit calls Soumya to reassure her. Soumya, feeling neglected, accuses Adit of always putting her in difficult situations. She is also upset because Adit forgot that her birthday is the next day. When Adit asks what she wants as a gift, Soumya demands that he spend 24 uninterrupted hours with her, away from the city. Initially hesitant, Adit is concerned about raising more suspicion among the family.
However, Soumya persuades him by questioning his commitment, and Adit finally agrees. Unbeknownst to them, Kusum overhears their conversation, and Adit is startled when she suddenly enters the room. Trying to maintain his composure, Adit awkwardly asks Kusum why she startled him, to which she responds that everyone is waiting for him to join them for dinner.
The family sits together for dinner, but Kusum is distracted, her mind replaying Shanti’s warnings about Adit. Mangal notices that her mother is lost in thought and consuming too many spicy dishes, despite having acidity. When Mangal points this out, Kusum brushes it off, claiming that she wanted to eat spicy food that day. Karthik tries to lighten the mood by commenting how nice it feels to be having dinner as a family.
Sudesh mentions that Gayatri is the only one missing, while Karthik adds that they came as a surprise and invites the family to join them for dinner at their house the next day. Excited, Ishana agrees, but Adit declines, saying he has a presentation in Mumbai and won’t be able to join. Akshar then reminds everyone that he also has a sports event the next day.
Mangal is surprised by Adit’s sudden announcement, as he had not mentioned his presentation earlier. Adit quickly explains that he just received the call and needs to pack for his trip. This leaves Kusum even more suspicious of Adit’s true intentions.
As Adit packs his bag, Mangal offers to help, but Adit insists he can manage. Kusum, still suspicious, asks if he has the ticket, and Adit shows her a fake ticket. Although the ticket looks legitimate, Kusum remains unconvinced. The next morning, Mangal hands Adit a lunchbox, but he refuses it, saying he’s in a hurry. As Adit leaves, Soumya calls him, and Mangal prays for Adit’s success in his presentation.
Soon after, the family watches the news, and a shocking report comes in. An airline bound for Mumbai has met with an accident. Upon hearing this, Mangal drops the plate she’s holding and starts crying, fearing that Adit was on that flight. Kusum faints from the shock, while Sudesh and Mangal panic. Kusum, in tears, refuses to believe the news, but Mangal rushes to the airport, determined to find out the truth. In her emotional state, she recalls her wedding to Adit and their happy moments together. While running after an auto, Mangal gets hit by a bike and suffers an injury.
