The 1st episode of Jagriti began with a brief introduction to the Chitta community. Harish was shown capturing birds in the forest. Durjan, a respected member of the community, praised Ballu for bringing four elephant tusks to him. Soon after, Harish brought the birds he had caught to Durjan. Ballu, noticing the birds, began mocking Harish for his efforts. Durjan, however, defended Harish and told Ballu that Kalikanth had been searching for these birds and would pay a good price for them.
One of the community members then suggested that they should sell the birds themselves to earn more money. Durjan quickly scolded the man and reminded everyone that Kalikanth was protecting them from the authorities. He explained that without Kalikanth’s protection, they wouldn’t survive. Durjan emphasized that the Chitta people were slaves of Kalikanth, and they should treat him as their god. Later, Ballu continued mocking Harish, this time about his lost love, Geeta, reminding Harish that she had left him six months ago.
This took Harish down memory lane, recalling the time he had spent with Geeta. In a flashback, Geeta told Harish that she had to leave for a while to convince her parents to accept their relationship. Harish was doubtful, as he knew Geeta’s parents would never approve of him because he belonged to the Chitta community. But Geeta assured him that they would have no choice but to accept him because she was pregnant with their child. Harish thought about the past six months, wondering where Geeta had disappeared to since she had never contacted him.
As Harish pondered, Geeta arrived at the Chitta community in a taxi. She stepped out and began searching for him. Meanwhile, Geeta’s father, Solanki, questioned his wife about how Geeta had escaped from their house. His wife explained that Geeta had faked stomach pains, pretending to need a hospital visit, and used that as her chance to run away. Solanki suspected that Geeta had gone to meet Harish. His wife then suggested asking Kalikanth for help since he had control over the Chitta community. Solanki agreed with her suggestion.
Back in the Chitta community, Geeta finally found Harish and revealed to him that they now had a daughter. At the same time, Solanki called Kalikanth and informed him that his daughter had a relationship with Harish and was pregnant. Solanki demanded that Kalikanth return Geeta to him. Kalikanth assured Solanki that he would handle the situation and bring Geeta back.
The community members then told Geeta how concerned Harish had been during her absence. After they left, Harish shared how he had tried contacting Geeta every day through calls and letters. Geeta explained that when she told her parents the truth about their relationship, her father locked her up. She also revealed that her pregnancy was complicated, so her baby had not been aborted. Harish suggested that they should run away and start fresh, but Geeta insisted they stay and try to change the community’s mindset.
Kalikant soon arrived at the Chitta community with his men. He began scolding the community members and had Harish and Geeta brought out. Kalikant mocked Harish and revealed to everyone that Geeta was Solanki’s daughter, someone he considered a friend. Despite Geeta pleading with Kalikant to leave them alone, he refused, stating that he would take her back to her father. He berated Harish for crossing his limits. Harish fought off Kalikant’s men and begged him to spare Geeta and their unborn child. Kalikant ignored his pleas and beat him, while his men attacked the community.
In the middle of the chaos, Harish managed to start his bike and escape with Geeta. Kalikant and his men gave chase, shooting at them. A bullet hit Harish’s bike, forcing them to abandon it. Harish then carried Geeta and fled on foot. Durjan assured Kalikant that they would catch the couple, and Kalikant vowed to destroy the Chitta community if they failed.
As they continued running, Geeta started experiencing labor pains. Harish found a nearby hut, where they sought shelter. Geeta told Harish that their daughter would become the “Jagriti” the community needed to guide them. Harish agreed and carried her into the hut.
Meanwhile, Solanki confronted Kalikant, demanding to know how Harish and Geeta had escaped. Kalikant reassured Solanki, stating that his men would find them soon. Inside the hut, Geeta gave birth to a baby girl before falling unconscious. Harish, overjoyed, gazed at their daughter and told Geeta to look at their new child, Jagriti. The episode ended on an emotional note.
