BhagyaLakshmi 17 August 2024 Written Update: The episode of Bhagya Lakshmi on 17th August 2024 opens with Lakshmi looking after Rohan and Paro. Lakshmi asks the children to go to sleep and inquires if Paro will be comfortable sleeping there. Paro reassures her that she will be fine as long as Rohan is with her. Lakshmi, ever the caring figure, reminds them not to talk after she leaves. Rohan, who seems quite tired, says he is feeling sleepy, and Paro echoes his sentiments. However, the siblings soon start to argue over their sleeping arrangements.
Seeing the disagreement, Lakshmi steps in, suggesting that Paro should sleep with her for the night. She assures them that a new bed will be arranged the next day. Rohan confirms that the bed has already been ordered and will be delivered by tomorrow. Lakshmi, satisfied with the arrangement, leaves the room.
As she walks away, Rohan tells Paro about how their mother, Lakshmi Maa, took care of their father. However, he notes that the herbal drink she made, the kada, was a bit bitter. Paro, ever the understanding sibling, suggests that the bitterness might have been unintentional. But Rohan reveals that their father believed it was intentionally made bitter. This revelation worries Paro, and she expresses a desire to stop their mother from making the kada.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi contemplates Rishi’s health. She reflects on how his immunity has weakened due to his indulgence in unhealthy foods like pizza, burgers, and parathas. She tries to convince herself not to worry about him but finds it difficult. Rishi is thinking about Lakshmi and wishes she were with him in his room, especially since he’s not feeling well. He longs to hold her hand and sleep peacefully. However, Lakshmi reminds herself that Rishi now has someone else by his side, and she recalls the times he lied to her. Despite their physical separation, both Rishi and Lakshmi are deeply lost in thoughts of each other, even as they lie on their respective beds.

Rishi turns in his bed and notices Malishka sleeping beside him. Unable to sleep, he goes to the kitchen to get some water but is stopped by Lakshmi, who advises him against drinking cold water. Rishi, surprised to see her awake, asks why she hasn’t gone to bed yet. Lakshmi counters by asking why he hasn’t slept. Rishi explains that he was feeling thirsty and that’s why he came to drink water. He reaches for a glass, but Lakshmi takes it from him, insisting he drink lukewarm water instead of cold.
Rishi, stubborn as ever, reminds Lakshmi that he prefers cold water. Lakshmi, however, boils the water and gives it to him, insisting that it’s better for his health. Rishi refuses, saying he will drink cold water and challenges her to stop him. But Lakshmi, showing her determination, forces him to drink the lukewarm water.
Frustrated, Rishi accuses her of being domineering and mentions that since she wanted him to come to her house, now she must deal with the consequences. When he attempts to retrieve more cold water from the fridge, Lakshmi empties the bottles into pots, further frustrating him. Rishi protests, reminding her not to waste water, but Lakshmi calmly explains that she hasn’t wasted it, just repurposed it.
Amidst their banter, they both feel a sudden electric spark, hinting that the connection between them is still strong. Rishi acknowledges this spark and bids Lakshmi good night. Lakshmi, somewhat flustered, wishes him good night too. As Rishi returns to his room, he realizes that his love for Lakshmi is still alive. He enjoys the way she takes charge and secretly relishes her presence.
The next morning, Rohan asks the family’s chef to make something that tastes like the dishes Lakshmi used to prepare. Paro, unable to enjoy anything else, reminisces about Lakshmi’s cooking. As they wait, Rishi playfully scares the children by saying “boo,” but they are unimpressed, with Rohan even suggesting that Rishi needs to think of new ways to surprise them. Ayush joins in and manages to scare Rishi instead. They all laugh together, a rare moment of joy that hasn’t been seen in the house for a long time.

Karishma and Aanchal observe this scene from a distance, noting how the children are finally smiling and laughing again. However, Karishma can’t help but comment that things would be perfect if a certain someone wasn’t around. Lakshmi, ever diligent, asks Paro about her homework, while Rishi teases the kids, asking them who their dad is. Rohan and Paro, with innocence and love, respond, “Dad.” Ayush, curious, asks Rishi how he recovered so quickly.
Paro proudly declares that it was their mother’s kada that made him better. Ayush suggests that Rishi should thank Lakshmi, but Lakshmi humbly mentions that Rishi had been trying not to get better by sneaking cold water. She jokes that if she hadn’t caught him, her reputation as a caretaker would have been ruined.
Ayush praises Lakshmi, calling her great, which doesn’t sit well with Karishma and Aanchal. When the chef tells Karishma that the children want malpua made just like Lakshmi does, Karishma dismisses him, but Rohan insists that only Lakshmi Maa’s malpua will do. The kids persuade Rishi to ask Lakshmi to make it, and she agrees, stating that she’ll make it because Rohan and Paro asked, not because of any recommendations.
As the episode progresses, Ayush informs Rishi that Sandeep Mishra, a crucial business partner, will be visiting. Rishi is pleased, noting that this will help finalize some important deals. Meanwhile, Karishma and Aanchal visit Malishka in her room, only to find her still sleeping. They wake her up, warning her that if she doesn’t take action soon, she might lose everything. Karishma mentions that Lakshmi has started to take control of the kitchen, a domain that Malishka needs to reclaim.
Malishka, annoyed but determined, devises a plan to hurt Lakshmi in the kitchen, not fatally, but enough to cause her harm and frame her in a way that they can take custody of Paro. Karishma and Aanchal are impressed with her plan and agree to assist her.
The episode ends with a tense atmosphere as Malishka prepares to set her plan in motion, intending to make Lakshmi’s life miserable. However, it is clear that Rishi’s feelings for Lakshmi are as strong as ever, setting the stage for an intense battle between love and power in the coming episodes.
