Meanwhile, Adit finds himself in a tough spot as he tries to explain the situation to Sowmya. Clearly upset, Sowmya lashes out, telling Adit to go and romance his wife, Mangal. Adit, feeling cornered, reminds Sowmya that he doesn’t enjoy spending time with Mangal, something Sowmya already knows. He tries to justify his actions, explaining that when he hugged Mangal, he believed it was Sowmya.
This reasoning does little to appease Sowmya, who sarcastically questions whether Adit can’t even differentiate between her and Mangal. Adit, feeling the pressure, admits that he cannot outright tell Mangal he was waiting for Sowmya, complicating matters further. Sowmya’s anger is evident as she confesses how seeing Adit with Mangal filled her with rage. Just as the conversation intensifies, Mangal approaches, prompting Adit to leave abruptly.
Sowmya, fuming with jealousy and irritation towards Mangal, decides that it’s time to teach her a lesson. With a sinister plan in mind, Sowmya turns on the gas stove and schemes to blame Mangal for a potential gas leak. She resolves to alert the household after 45 minutes, setting the stage for a dangerous situation.
In another part of the house, Lakshmi is seen deep in a dream where Karthik, her beloved, comes to console her. In her dream, Lakshmi hugs Karthik, expressing how much it hurts her when he distances himself. However, reality hits hard as she wakes up, realizing that Karthik hasn’t come to her at all, leaving her feeling disheartened and lonely.
Sowmya, driven by her malevolent intentions, visits Kusum, harboring the intent to inform her about the gas leak only after half an hour, ensuring that Mangal takes the fall for it.
As the night progresses, Mangal, suffering from a cold, begins sneezing incessantly. Noticing that her sneezes are disturbing Adit’s sleep, she quietly heads to the kitchen, unaware of the danger that lies ahead. Her blocked nose prevents her from detecting the gas leak, a critical detail that could have saved her from the ensuing disaster. Mangal attempts to switch on the kitchen light but finds it unresponsive. She decides to fetch a chair to investigate further, but just as she is about to take action, a massive blast rocks the kitchen.
The explosion jolts Kusum awake, who immediately senses the smell of gas. Alarmed, she rushes to the kitchen, her heart pounding with fear. Sowmya, who had fallen asleep, suddenly wakes up and realizes it’s already 3:30 a.m., far beyond the time she planned to alert everyone.
The entire household rushes to the kitchen, panic evident in their expressions as they confront the raging fire. The family’s primary concern is Mangal’s safety, and their fears are confirmed when Akshat spots Mangal lying on the floor. Fortunately, Mangal regains consciousness, and with incredible courage, she grabs a fire extinguisher and manages to put out the flames, preventing further destruction.
As the dust settles, Kusum confronts Mangal, asking how the fire could have started in the kitchen. Mangal, still shaken, explains that she had gone to the kitchen to make a remedy for her cold and discovered the light wasn’t working. When Sowmya slyly questions how Mangal could have attempted to switch on the light when the smell of gas was so strong, Mangal defends herself, saying she couldn’t detect the gas due to her cold.
Adit, noticing that the gas knob is turned on, immediately blames Mangal for the incident. Mangal, hurt and confused, insists that she always turns off the gas before leaving the kitchen and pleads with Kusum to believe her. Despite her pleas, Adit’s harsh comments further demean Mangal. Kusum, trying to maintain peace, suggests that Mangal take a few days off from kitchen duties. Concerned about the meals, Mangal asks Kusum what will happen if she doesn’t cook, to which Sowmya volunteers to take over. Kusum initially hesitates, knowing Sowmya’s lack of cooking skills, but Adit convinces her, and Kusum reluctantly agrees.
