The episode begins with an emotional interaction between Rajat and Kiyaan. Rajat expresses how much he has missed Kiyaan and asks if everything is going well. Kiyaan reassures Rajat that things are fine but hesitantly brings up a request. He tells Rajat that he needs something from him, but before he explains, Rajat recalls his past struggles when he was unable to provide for Kiyaan. Despite his memories, Rajat assures Kiyaan that he will give him whatever he desires.
Kiyaan then reveals that he wants to change his surname from “Kiyaan Rajat Thakkar” to “Kiyaan Harsh Gujraal” and asks Rajat to sign some documents to finalize the change. Rajat, taken aback, questions Kiyaan about the request, and Kiyaan explains that he wants to apply for a passport and, as part of the process, change his father’s name. This declaration shatters Rajat, who tries to remind Kiyaan of their shared past in an attempt to reconnect with his son. However, Kiyaan coldly pushes him away, reminding him of the judge’s warning to stay distant.
Heartbroken, Rajat insists that Kiyaan is his son and pleads with him not to take Harsh’s surname. Kiyaan retorts, saying that Rajat never provided him with what he needed and even now is refusing to fulfill his desires. His words sting, as Kiyaan declares that he no longer wants Rajat as a father. In anguish, Rajat signs the papers, trying to speak with Kiyaan one last time, but Kiyaan asks him to leave, which Rajat does with a heavy heart.
Back at home, Rajat, filled with sorrow, asks Kavita to prepare some coffee, but Savi informs him that no one is home except her and Saisha. She offers to make the coffee herself, but Rajat declines, preferring to make it on his own. Suddenly, Saisha calls for their attention as the diya (sacred lamp) is about to go out. Rajat and Savi rush to protect it, and in the process, Rajat burns his hand.
Savi quickly applies a cool compress, but Rajat, already upset, becomes furious. The memories of his painful past with Ashika and Kiyaan flood his mind, and in his anger, he lashes out at Savi, reminding her that she came into the house as Sai’s mother. His words frighten little Sai, who runs away, and Savi scolds Rajat for his harsh behavior.
In a different scene, Rajat drowns his sorrows at a bar, reflecting on Kiyaan’s request to disown him so that Harsh can adopt him. Meanwhile, in another part of the episode, Mrunmayi stays awake to guard the Akhanda Jyoti (eternal flame). Isha, her family member, suggests that Mrunmayi needs someone to keep her company. Aman overhears the conversation and offers to help. Though Milind initially refuses his offer, Harini supports Aman, reminding Milind of his pending work meeting. She asks Mrunmayi if she is okay with Aman’s help, and she agrees.
Back at the bar, the bartender informs Rajat that it’s closing time, but Rajat asks for more time and begins to share his troubles with him. He advises the bartender to always express love to his children, or they might leave once they grow up. In his drunken state, Rajat tries to open a bottle with his teeth, injuring himself. The concerned bartender calls Savi, informing her that Rajat is hurt and needs medical attention. Savi rushes to the bar and takes Rajat to the hospital.
At the hospital, the doctor examines Rajat and informs Savi that he needs stitches. However, Rajat refuses anesthesia for the procedure. While waiting, Savi accidentally causes a nitrous oxide gas leak, which affects both her and Rajat. The doctor returns, notices the leak, and shuts it off, proceeding with the injection. During the procedure, Rajat, under the influence, becomes emotional and begs Kiyaan not to leave him, questioning who will call him “Dad” if Kiyaan is gone. Savi gently reminds him that Sai is his daughter, but Rajat, lost in his pain, claims that Sai is not really his child.
The episode ends on this emotional note.
