The episode of Jhanak aired on 12th September 2024, opens with the emotional Biday (farewell) ceremony of Appu, who is all set to leave her parental home, the Bose house, to begin her new life with her husband. The atmosphere is thick with emotions as family members gather to bid Appu a tearful goodbye. Each member of the family, especially her parents, Ajanta and Bablu, struggle to hold back their tears as they watch their beloved daughter leave the house where she grew up.
As the ritual progresses, Jhanak, known for her strong opinions, raises her voice against some of the age-old traditions that brides are expected to follow the day after their wedding. These customs, she argues, are outdated and irrelevant in today’s world. Appu, too, feels the same and expresses her unwillingness to follow these rituals, which causes a bit of friction between her and her mother, Ajanta. The conversation becomes tense as Ajanta worries about how Appu’s in-laws will perceive her behavior if she doesn’t conform to their expectations. Despite the tension, Ajanta advises her daughter to take care of herself and try to keep her in-laws happy, fearing that any disturbance might create issues in her new life.
As the time comes for Appu to finally leave, the air is filled with heartbreak. Ajanta and Bablu find it hard to hold back their emotions as they see their daughter leaving for her new home. Relatives try to console them, telling them not to break down as it might make Appu feel unhappy and concerned about her parents. Amidst this emotional farewell, Lalan, Appu’s husband, assures her parents that he will take good care of her, bringing a slight relief to the family. Finally, Appu leaves with her husband, leaving behind her family and her home.
As the emotional farewell of Appu ends, the scene shifts to Jhanak, who receives a phone call from Aditya. Aditya, who has been in Mumbai, informs Jhanak that he has arranged a meeting with a well-known director who is interested in finalizing a film with her. He urges Jhanak to return to Mumbai as soon as possible, as the meeting will take place in just two days. Aditya, being efficient, has already booked her a ticket, and Jhanak agrees to follow his instructions and return to Mumbai within the given time.
However, during this conversation, Aniruddha notices Jhanak’s phone screen displaying Aditya’s name and becomes suspicious. Curious and uneasy, he follows her to her room and eavesdrops on the conversation between Jhanak and Aditya. His mind quickly jumps to conclusions, and he becomes convinced that Jhanak and Aditya are conspiring against him. Aniruddha starts imagining that Jhanak is plotting to ruin his reputation with Aditya’s help.
When Jhanak realizes that Aniruddha was secretly listening to her conversation, she becomes furious. She confronts him, but Aniruddha, driven by jealousy and mistrust, accuses her of trying to defame him. He cannot believe that Jhanak is carrying his child and constantly questions her character. Aniruddha’s disbelief is rooted in the fact that Jhanak has been living in Mumbai with Aditya, making him suspicious of her relationship with Aditya.
Aniruddha’s anger spirals out of control as he becomes more convinced that Jhanak is plotting against him. Despite Jhanak’s attempts to explain that the child she is carrying is his, Aniruddha refuses to listen. He cannot believe that their relationship, though strained, had a moment where they were genuinely close, resulting in her pregnancy. Jhanak feels completely helpless, unable to make Aniruddha understand the truth. His constant accusations hurt her deeply, but she remains firm in her conviction. She promises Aniruddha that one day he will realize his mistakes, but by then, it will be too late, and she will not return to his life.
Aniruddha’s harsh words leave Jhanak shattered, and the emotional strain between the two is palpable. The episode ends on this heartbreaking note, with Jhanak left in tears, unable to change Aniruddha’s mind.
Precap: In the precap, Aditya Kapoor calls Aniruddha to inform him that Jhanak has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai due to poor health. Worried about her condition, Aniruddha decides to visit her, raising the possibility of a turning point in their tumultuous relationship.
