Shubha and Tanuja, two key members of the Bose family, are against the idea of Lalan marrying Appu. Despite their objections, Appu’s grandfather sees merit in the proposal and supports the marriage. However, the approval is short-lived as Appu’s grandmother disagrees and denies her consent, creating tension in the house. Chhoton and Appu, both young and full of dreams, are left heartbroken by this decision. They had hoped for a positive outcome, but the rejection by Appu’s grandmother puts a damper on their spirits. Meanwhile, Lalan and his mother face humiliation from the Bose family elders, who insult them openly, adding to their sense of dejection.
