The episode of Kumkum Bhagya 20 August 2024, begins with RV waking up and noticing that Poorvi is still asleep. He checks the time and realizes it’s already 10 PM. RV contemplates waking Poorvi up but decides to let her sleep for a bit longer. He pulls the curtains over the window to block the sunlight and even stands in its path to ensure it doesn’t disturb her. However, RV quickly realizes that he cannot stand there for long since he has a meeting at the office. To solve this dilemma, he places a sofa in front of the window to keep the sunlight from reaching Poorvi and disturbing her rest.
As he watches Poorvi sleep, RV recalls the promise he made to Khushi about ruining Poorvi’s life. He also remembers how harshly he treated her when they first met, which causes him to reflect on his actions. Just then, Vikrant enters the room.
Meanwhile, Deepika calls Monisha, who answers the phone groggily and complains about being woken up. Deepika quickly asks Monisha if she plans to attend Anmol Mehta’s party. Monisha seems confused and asks what party she’s talking about. Deepika explains that the party is being thrown for RV as a celebration of Poorvi ending all of his troubles. She mentions that Nethra has left and that Poorvi even helped her get to the bus depot. Sensing that Harleen is nearby, Deepika changes the subject and pretends to be talking to a servant about bringing coriander. Harleen, noticing the switch in conversation, comments that the coriander was already brought yesterday.
Back in the room with RV, he confesses to Vikrant that he has wronged Poorvi and feels unworthy of her. Both Dadu and Vikrant try to console him, assuring him that he isn’t the type to intentionally hurt someone. However, RV insists that he did do something wrong. When Dadu presses for details, RV admits that he once lowered the air conditioner’s temperature to make Poorvi uncomfortable. Dadu reacts with mock anger, calling RV shameless and comparing him to Khushi. Dadu then takes the AC remote and jokes that since RV set the temperature to 16 degrees, he would do the same.

Vikrant advises RV not to dwell on his guilt, but RV still feels conflicted and leaves, remarking that their family is unique in its quirks.
The scene shifts to Dadu getting ready for the party. He calls out to Dadi, who enters, already dressed. Harleen also arrives, and Dadu teases her, calling her the “kulvadhu” (daughter-in-law). Harleen mentions that Harman is still getting ready, taking longer than her. When Harman finally appears, RV and Yug also join the group. The family exchanges light-hearted banter, with RV teasing Yug about having a line of girls waiting for him, which Yug dismisses as an “invisible line.” Dadu humorously claims that Harman has girls waiting in line for him instead. Amidst the playful teasing, Harman and Harleen express their love for each other, while RV suggests that they head to the party.
As the family prepares to leave, Jaswant and Vaishali also arrive, and everyone gathers together. Vikrant arrives with Deepika, who comments on how much time it took her to get ready. RV then challenges Vikrant to sing a song, much to Deepika’s amusement, as she insists that Vikrant cannot sing. However, Vikrant accepts the challenge and begins singing. Despite his efforts, the family jokes about whether he’s praising Deepika or insulting her with his singing. They all agree that it’s time to leave for the party.
Monisha eventually joins the group, and Deepika suggests that she ride with RV. RV reluctantly agrees but notes that Poorvi hasn’t come down yet. When Poorvi finally arrives, RV smiles at her, and the entire family heads out together. RV, Yug, Poorvi, and Monisha prepare to leave in the same car, but when Monisha tries to sit in the front seat next to RV, he asks her to sit in the back. Monisha is visibly annoyed but complies, sitting with Yug in the back while Poorvi sits in the front.
Monisha is frustrated and internally vows to bring RV down for favoring Poorvi. As they drive to the party, Monisha’s jealousy continues to simmer.
At the party, Harleen thanks a lady for speaking highly of RV earlier, even though she had previously doubted him. The lady awkwardly tries to brush off the conversation, saying that people sometimes do things they don’t mean. Harleen agrees, adding that people only truly understand suffering when they experience it themselves. The conversation shifts to Harman, who expresses his happiness in staying close to his family, a sentiment echoed by Vikrant.
Soon after, the host of the party, Mr. Anmol Mehta, arrives and welcomes everyone, noting that the party is filled with business guests and that Harman will have to bear with them for the evening. The family shares a light moment, teasing Dadu about being like “old Basmati rice,” and the mood remains jovial.

As the media arrives, a reporter named Rajan requests a family photo. The family obliges, but Rajan notices that RV and Poorvi are missing from the group. Diya, feeling out of place at the party, confides in Soham, who reassures her that the party is important for RV. Just then, RV and Poorvi arrive, and Poorvi tells Diya that she’s glad Diya came because they can keep each other company while RV mingles.
Monisha, watching the sisters reconnect, internally mocks them, thinking they are too naive. RV, Poorvi, and the others are about to head inside when Poorvi’s bracelet gets caught in RV’s watch. The two share a playful moment as they try to free it, with RV jokingly accusing Poorvi of trying to woo him. Poorvi retorts that he must be from another world, maybe even an alien. The banter continues until Monisha steps out of the car, fuming at the sight of RV holding Poorvi’s hand.
The episode ends with Monisha plotting her next move, determined to make RV pay for his affection towards Poorvi.
