On October 3rd, the episode begins with Vaiju firmly refusing to accept any financial help from Rannvijay. As she tries to leave, Rannvijay holds her hand to stop her, but she pulls away and walks off. Rannvijay watches her leave, feeling helpless. Aaji sees Rannvijay and asks him if he has come to visit for Vaiju’s examination. Vaiju quickly steps in and says he’s only there for mill work, assuring Aaji that Rannvijay will leave as soon as his work is done.
However, Aaji insists that Rannvijay should stay at their home during his visit. Vaiju is uncomfortable with this idea and tries to explain that Rannvijay usually stays at a lodge whenever he’s in town. Despite this, Rannvijay agrees to stay at their home, which makes Aaji very happy, but Vaiju is left feeling shocked and uneasy.
Rannvijay tells Vaiju that she still doesn’t fully understand him. Aaji spreads the word to everyone in the household that Rannvijay will be staying with them, adding that he’s there for Vaiju’s examination and not for mill work. Kailash, another family member, joins the conversation and points out that everyone in Jhumri Patan knows how much Rannvijay loves Vaiju. He also criticizes Vaiju for returning with very few clothes, comparing her appearance to that of a maid.
Vaiju quickly defends her in-laws, saying they treat her well and love her like a daughter. She also defends Rannvijay, showing everyone a pen he had gifted her and explaining how he’s the one supporting her education. Inside, Rannvijay thinks to himself that even though Vaiju is upset with him, she won’t let anyone speak ill of him.
Vaiju continues to defend Rannvijay, stating that no one has the right to question his actions or intentions. Aaji tries to smooth things over by telling Rannvijay not to take Kailash’s comments to heart, and she warmly invites him inside their house. Vaiju, however, is still troubled and wonders what Rannvijay is really doing there. She suspects that Rannvijay might have lied to his wife, Jaya, to come to Jhumri Patan. Confused and concerned, Vaiju questions why Rannvijay would deceive Jaya just to meet her.
Later, Aaji asks Vaiju to make sure everything is in order for Rannvijay’s stay while she goes to the kitchen to prepare food. Vaiju asks Rannvijay if he needs anything, and he jokingly says that he’s hungry and needs food. But Vaiju senses that something is going on in Rannvijay’s mind and begins to worry. She heads to the kitchen and is surprised to find the shelves nearly empty and the groceries running low. Vaiju asks Aaji why she didn’t inform her about the shortage of supplies. Rannvijay overhears their conversation as Aaji tells Vaiju that they need to treat him well since he’s their guest.
Once the meal is prepared, they serve the food to Rannvijay, but after taking a few bites, he comments that he doesn’t like the “moti roti” (a thick flatbread). Aaji suggests that Vaiju should finish what’s left on his plate, but Vaiju politely declines, saying she’ll eat later with Aaji.
Meanwhile, back at Rannvijay’s home, Sulekha approaches Jaya and urges her to eat, but Jaya refuses, saying she’s not hungry. Sulekha takes the opportunity to stir up doubt, pointing out how strange it is that Rannvijay left right after Vaiju went back to her in-laws’ house. Jaya tries to defend her husband, but Sulekha continues to provoke her, revealing that Rannvijay has gone to Jhumri Patan.
Back in Jhumri Patan, Milind arrives at the house and offers to teach English to Vaiju. Aaji introduces Milind to Rannvijay, and during their interaction, Vaiju realizes that Rannvijay must have overheard the earlier conversation about their limited groceries. That must be the reason he isn’t eating much, she thinks.
The episode ends with Vaiju feeling even more confused and wondering what exactly Rannvijay is doing in Jhumri Patan.
