In the latest episode of “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” which aired on 27th August 2024, wedding preparations are in full swing. Kaveri is busy thinking about gifts to give the guests. She discusses the decorations with Vidya, making sure everything is perfect for the big day. Meanwhile, Manisha is confident that the guests will fondly remember Abhira and Arman’s wedding. However, Kaveri seems worried about people gossiping about Abhira’s background.
She wants the focus to be on the wedding celebration and not on Abhira’s past. Arman steps in to defend Abhira, standing up for his love. Kaveri argues that they don’t know much about Abhira’s family background, and Vidya agrees with Kaveri. In the middle of all this, Kaveri instructs Manoj and Madhav to finalize the catering for the wedding.
In another scene, Ruhi is seen asking Abhira about her parents. Abhira writes down the names Akshara and Abhinav, her late parents. Aryan teases Arman after he calls out to Abhira, which lightens the atmosphere. But soon, the tension returns when Abhira confronts Kaveri with a big request. Abhira expresses her wish for a simple wedding, instead of the grand affair that is being planned. She insists that Kaveri should stop planning for an extravagant wedding.
Abhira explains that she wants to celebrate her special day in the company of her close family and not with extravagant celebrations. Kaveri, hearing this, becomes emotional. Abhira notices and asks Kaveri why she is crying. Vidya quickly blames Abhira, saying her words have hurt Kaveri.
Abhira is concerned about Kaveri’s feelings and asks her why she is upset. Kaveri opens up about her dream of planning a grand wedding for Arman. She defends her intentions, saying that if everyone thought like Abhira, wedding planners would go out of business. Kaveri asks Abhira to understand her emotions and her desire to make Arman’s wedding a memorable event. She even says that if Abhira truly wants a simple wedding, she is willing to drop her grand plans.
Vidya chimes in, saying Abhira should consider their emotions too and not just her own. Sanjay adds that Abhira is being selfish and only thinking about herself. He mentions inviting relatives who had once invited them to their functions, emphasizing the social aspect of the wedding. Rohit supports Kaveri, agreeing with the idea of a grand celebration. Vidya tells Abhira not to worry about the costs. Kajal also reminds Abhira that she is part of their family and should not be concerned about the money.
Despite the discussions, Abhira remains firm in her decision. She proposes to organize a function herself as her contribution to the wedding. Kaveri asks if Abhira has the funds to plan such a function. Abhira is momentarily taken aback by the question. Sanjay jumps in, doubting Abhira’s ability to afford any wedding-related expenses. He directly asks her if she has the money to finance her wedding plans. Vidya agrees with Sanjay, showing skepticism toward Abhira’s capabilities.
Determined, Abhira begins thinking about how to make her dream of a simple wedding come true. She decides to take out a loan to finance the event, showing her determination and independence. Vidya, however, is against the idea of Abhira taking on debt for the wedding.
In an unexpected turn, Kaveri decides to support Abhira’s choice. Arman, concerned about Abhira, decides to accompany her to the bank. Kaveri, though, tells Arman to let Abhira handle things on her own. Abhira feels grateful, thinking that Kaveri is genuinely supporting her. With newfound confidence, Abhira decides to plan a wedding function as a tribute to her mother, Akshara.
Precap: In the upcoming episode, Abhira will sing one of Akshara’s songs, leaving Ruhi confused. Manish will ask Abhira about the song, and Abhira’s reply will come as a shock to everyone.
